Before paint is applied on the wall fall, Pre-Painting Work must take place this Includes:
Preparation work like 
1.masonry work, 
2.Crack filling- this are part of the painters job, which he perform. Others are surface preparations: This process of wall preparations  involves making the surface fit for paint application such as water proofing, applying Plaster of Paris (POP) like wall screeding which you must discuss with the painter as part of the contract agreements. These are pre-painting techniques to be undertaken to ensure maximum life for the final paint film.
The next step is to choose the shades/ scheme you want to be used in each room. Darker colors makes a space seem smaller while lighter shades brighten a space, making it appear more expansive.
 •Measure your rooms to find out the area you need to paint. Choose the most appropriate paint that meets your needs. Select Paints & Colours. •Remove door knobs, handles and other decorative accessories from doors and windows, so as to prevent damage due to paint spillage.
 • Use a dry mop or broom to thoroughly remove the dust from the walls. After this your choice of paint can be apply.

CHOICE OF PAINT AFTER WALL SCREEDINGS •Most wall paints (like emulsions and washable distempers) are washable. This means they can be periodically cleaned with mild soap water solution. However, stubborn and very old stains may be more difficult to remove from the film. It is mostly advisable to screed children rooms kitchens and passages with normal cement than the pop cement like (molder3 and ABS), after the screeding is done semi-ruber paints like silk and satins can be apply for washablility in the case of stains. •The newly painted surface should not be cleaned in less than 2 weeks after application of finished coat.   •To minimize permanent or difficult-to-remove stains, clean walls immediately before the stains dry up. •Walls should be checked periodically for loose, flaking or peeling paint.
